Vanpools
OKI’s Vanpool program is an affordable and convenient transportation option that enables coworkers to share a seven to 15 passenger van to get to work.
How does it work?
1. Get a group of 4 or more coworkers together.
2. Rent a vehicle through Commute with Enterprise. OKI provides an $800 monthly subsidy to residents in the 8-county area to cover costs of a fully equipped vehicle. Riders or their employers share the rest of the monthly rental fee.
3. Hit the road! The group works out all the logistics, such as meeting/pick up times. The volunteer driver has limited personal use of the van on weekends and evenings.
4. Enjoy the ride! Relax on your commute while improving air quality, reducing wear and tear on your vehicle and saving money. Group members are not required to make a long-term commitment to riding. Instead, they agree to ride for a month at a time, and give a one-month notice if they decide to leave the group.

Carpools
Forming a carpool is a great way to share the ride and cut your commuting costs.
RideShare will help you find a neighbor or co-worker going your way. Sign up and enter your commute details at GohioCommute and we’ll send you a list of others who have similar drives. You contact them and work out the details. You can arrange to carpool every day, certain days, or on an as-needed basis.
Guaranteed Ride Home Program
RideShare offers a Guaranteed Ride Home program that provides carpoolers and vanpoolers extra insurance that they can get home in case of an emergency or unexpected overtime. The Guaranteed Ride Home program offers commuters 80% reimbursement of the cost of cab fare or transit fare home. Registered carpoolers and vanpoolers can use this service up to four times per year. Once registered, commuters do not have to call for approval. They just mail or email their dated receipt to OKI.
Receipts must be received within 30 days of the ride. If your ride takes place in June, receipts must be submitted before June 30, as that is when OKI’s Fiscal Year ends.
