ITS Architecture Update & Strategic Plan
The OKI Regional ITS Architecture is a roadmap for transportation systems integration in the OKI (Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana) Regional Council of Government tri-state area over the next 10 plus years. The OKI Regional ITS Architecture has been developed through a cooperative effort by the region’s transportation agencies, covering all surface transportation modes in the region.
This 2022 OKI Regional ITS Architecture Update was developed by reviewing the 2016 OKI Regional ITS Plan document, which included a regional ITS architecture, establishing an ITS Architecture Committee that met periodically to discuss existing and proposed ITS projects in the region, and conducting stakeholder outreach that included administering an online stakeholder survey to gather feedback regarding existing and future ITS technology and projects along with prioritizing common transportation needs that could be addressed through the use of ITS technologies. This OKI Regional ITS Architecture documents how stakeholders envision that each agency’s systems will work together in the future and how that sharing of information and resources will help provide a safer, more efficient, and more effective transportation system for travelers in the region.
