Our continued goal is to serve Butler County older adults in the most efficient manner but also with the respect they deserve. It is important to us to help older adults in our area age-in-place successfully at home. Portions of our funding comes from the Council on Aging of Southwest Ohio. This includes Title III through the Older Americans Act, the Elderly Services Program, and Passport. We also accept donations and private pay contracts for services. We are requesting wheelchair accessible vans specifically modified minivans to help us become more efficient and to provide more services to more people more often. These types of vans have been the most versatile for helping us transport our current demographic of clients. Wheelchair accessible vans will be used 5 days a week in our operation and help with creating more efficient and effective scheduling giving us the flexibility to have more drivers available to pick up clients with all types of mobility needs. On average one van per day provides 8 – 10 one way trips. The more wheelchair accessible vans we have on the road the more opportunities we have to increase our capacities. We could expect to provide an additional 3 – 5 one way trips per day per van. Our fleet currently has a few aging modified minivans and it will be important to plan accordingly for replacing those so we continue to maintain the demand for our current transportation services but also have the ability to expand and meet the changing needs of our community.
