Freight

OKI formed a Freight Working Group to begin to understand the impact freight will have on the Tri-State region. The focus from the beginning has been to take action on freight improvements through relationship-building among the private sector, public sector, regional and super-regional interests. The Freight Working Group has been very successful in developing public-private partnerships across the region. New outreach in 2008 included Ohio River rail terminals and freight transloading storage hubs. Such opportunities are critical for reducing current and future rail and truck congestion within the I-275 loop, as well as stimulating the Tri-State’s economy. Freight Update
