Welcome to The Regional planning forum

The next Regional Planning Forum will be held on May 18th 2012.

Planners across the region face the challenge of improving our communities, our institutions, our public services and our development opportunities in sustainable and fiscally responsible ways, in difficult and uncertain economic times, with tools that are constantly changing. The purpose of the Forum is to create a regional outlet for sharing information, experience and expertise among planners and those in related disciplines so that we can provide the best possible quality of life for those who live and work in our region.

The Forum is open to representatives from throughout the tri-state region who are working to affect the future, whether through local planning or community foundations or by planning for community development, business, workforce development, public housing, environmental issues, efficient food systems, public transportation, energy, social services or public health - in short, any issues that affect either our built environment or our natural environment.  The Forum convenes quarterly for 2 hour meetings including 30-45 minutes of brief updates about planning-related projects in the region and 60-90 minutes devoted to one or two presentations on key topics of interest to Forum participants.

This website was designed for Forum participants and others in the region interested in learning more about the various activities occurring across the region that are improving our future.  This site contains materials from Forum meetings, information on various funding opportunities and announcements about upcoming events in the region relevant to Forum participants.
