The New OKI Blog

//The New OKI Blog

Welcome to OKI’s Blog, we are glad you stopped by.  Many of you have some idea what a blog is but for those who don’t, here are a few definitions we found on the World Wide Web (and, everything you find on the web is true, right?!).

 ‘A weblog is a hierarchy of text, images, media objects and data, arranged chronologically, that can be viewed in an HTML browser.’ Source

‘A frequent, chronological publication of personal thoughts and Web links.’ Source

‘A blog is basically a journal that is available on the web. The activity of updating a blog is “blogging” and someone who keeps a blog is a “blogger.” Blogs are typically updated daily using software that allows people with little or no technical background to update and maintain the blog. Postings on a blog are almost always arranged in chronological order with the most recent additions featured most prominently.’ Source

Confused yet?  Don’t be – It is all of the above and then some.  In this day and age of instant information and sometimes information overload, it is a wonder how we all keep up. We hope our blog is not another thing you have to read or keep up on. Just visit us when you can. We will feature guest bloggers both from OKI staff and those in the transportation industry.  We envision the information to be useful, interesting and told in a way that you can relate to.  Sometimes, we know our world can be quite technical and it is our hope that we help explain ideas and projects in a way that is simple and to the point.

Feel free to drop me an email if you have ideas or topics you would like to learn more about at lplatt@oki.org.  I would enjoy hearing from you!
