Groundwater Committee 
The OKI Groundwater Committee works to coordinate groundwater management for an aquifer system that supplies two-thirds of a million people with drinking water in southwest Ohio. The same qualities that make the sand and gravel aquifer such a productive source of drinking water also make it very susceptible to contamination from human activities.

The committee involves public and private water suppliers, businesses, industries and planners dealing with emerging issues relevant to water quality and quantity, such as the disposal of pharmaceutical and personal care products, state and federal regulations and legislation, and the impacts of pumping trends and drought conditions. The committee meets quarterly.
