FAST Act, the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act, was signed into law by President Obama on December 4, 2015. FAST Act was the first law enacted in over ten years that provides long-term funding certainty for surface transportation. The act continues the requirement that Metropolitan Planning Organizations prepare an annual listing of projects, including investments in pedestrian walkways and bicycle transportation facilities, for which Federal funds have been obligated in the preceding year under 23 U.S.C or 49 U.S.C. Chapter 53. The following reports provide information on transportation projects located in Ohio and Indiana (state fiscal year) that were obligated for spending using federal funds during fiscal year 2016.
