Protecting the air we breathe is fairly simple; any small change in your daily activities can make a difference. It's as simple as conserving energy, riding the bus, fueling up or mowing after 6 p.m., combining errands and keeping your vehicle maintained. These activities are especially important on smog alert days. The Regional Ozone Coalition (ROC), established in 1994, is a voluntary organization dedicated to improving the region's air quality through public and business education, involvement and outreach. Through the Do Your Share For Cleaner Air campaign, the ROC spreads the word about smog and air quality issues in the Greater Cincinnati area. The campaign is promoted through the following:
These programs and events are usually free and open to the public.
The ROC promotes voluntary actions that employers and citizens can take to help reduce ground-level ozone - the primary source of smog. We can help you develop and promote these voluntary actions within your company! The ROC serves as a resource so you can take action within your company, especially on smog alert days. The ROC can assist you in developing a smog notification system among employees or an enticing incentive program. We can also provide you with free materials that promote environmentally friendly habits and tips. We are available to come to your company and present information to your staff regarding the health aspects of smog, habits to improve air quality or the RideShare program. Or, if you have an air quality topic in mind, please call us and we will do our best to accommodate you.
